We had a nice kitchen but our house was built in 1987 so it was time to update a few things to compete with the McMansions nearby. We also added lots of cool gadgets, accessories and utensils in the process. OK, honestly, the renovation didn't stop there. We reworked the Kitchen, Pantry, Butler's Pantry, two downstairs bathrooms, the bar and upstairs slate patio. It took eight months and a bigger budget than we originally estimated (of course) but now that it's done we're very happy.
....The problem is we didn't cook that much before the renovation. Now, we want to become awesome cooks!
With the renovation behind us, we have the latest appliances that Thermador offers - including their "new to market" steam and convection oven.... the drawers and pantry are full of cool utensils and gadgets...luxury-level granite on the countertops and island.... double farm sink with Delta's touch technology faucet... a painted ceiling, wallpaper, and updated lighting (including inside the upper cabinets that all have window-type doors).
... So, it's time for us to become awesome. But, we just don't know exactly how to get there. We're starting this blog to document our journey from novices to experts. Wish us luck!
